Utterly wonderful for walks, atmosphere and getting close to nature. Easy parking, well defined walkways and a general air of peace and tranquility mak this a must for locals and visitors alike. aahh, bliss !

Nice place to fly a drone or go for a walk.

Beautiful common. Takes 35 - 40 minutes to walk around so we like to do an inner circle walk too - that way the dog gets plenty of time to sniff & stretch her legs. Four stars instead of five because of the occasional golfer who thinks he/she has the monopoly on the common & walkers should stick to the bridle path. Also no toilets, but three pubs practically on the common, all dog friendly.

This magnificent 900 acre public space has something for everyone, even including a nine hole private golf course. There are five pubs round its perimeter, as well as a cricket ground and the village church. Several new adventure playgrounds for kids were built a couple of years ago. Theres a wide range of habitats, with big open spaces, ponds and lots of woodland walks. The views are magnificent, especially on a clear sunny day. Theres a reasonable amount of free parking, especially bordering the main A404 road.

Large area of both open grassland and wooded areas. Excellent for dog walking, but beware golfers!
